What would you do for ten million dollars? Apparently the Savage family will do anything. Make plans to join them and witness their antics this fall for ACA’s comedy production, The Curious Savage, under the direction of new drama teacher Anna Stroud.
After competing for the top spots for the past several weeks, the top seven runners on the women’s varsity team and the top five for the men traveled to Matthews, North Carolina on September 23, for an early morning race! The team traveled the night before the race for extra time of fellowship and preparation for the race.

The ACA middle school cross country team has held official practices for the past two weeks, but many middle schoolers took the initiative to practice during the summer with the varsity team. The middle school team was ready and anxious to see their hard work pay off, to say the least, as they traveled to Macon for their first Cross Country meet of the season. When they arrived, they were informed that the race would be shortened to a mile and a half course instead of the typical 2-mile course. Asheville Christian Academy’s Varsity Cross Country runners started the season off with a race at Jackson Park. The course had hilly terrain, flat sections, and rooted hills that challenged the runners’ speed, endurance, balance, and strength throughout the race. Though the race was difficult, both the ACA men’s and women’s teams faired well. In a field of thirty-eight competing teams, ACA was successful, placing seventh overall for the women and eleventh for the men. Before and after the race, the team prayed for safety and success.
